What does "Kairo" mean?
In ancient Greek, Kairós means "the right moment." Not the time on a clock, but the perfect instant to act. That's our philosophy: helping you travel when and how it matters most.
The founder
Juan Toledo — Journalist, travel advisor and entrepreneur.
I grew up in Cienfuegos, "the Pearl of the South," a Cuban city named UNESCO heritage for its French-inspired architecture. There I learned to read stories in façades and to tell them as a journalist.
I earned a master's in Marketing and Public Opinion in Puebla (another UNESCO city) and a Digital Marketing specialization at Harvard Business School. Before founding Kairo I spent years planning trips for family and friends — until I realized I wanted to do it for anyone else seeking travel with purpose.
A scholarship took me across Mexico — from Los Cabos and the Riviera Maya to Veracruz, Mexico City and the monarch butterfly migration in the Sierra of Puebla. Seeing so many ways to travel taught me what truly makes a trip worth it: not luxury alone, but real value, a seamless journey and a genuine emotional connection. Back in the U.S., after Harvard and years building marketing and delivery platforms across Iowa, I turned that lesson into Kairo Travel.
